When you visit Vermont, be sure to put Cabot, maker of the World's Best Cheddar, on your list of things to see and do. With three retail shops full of free nibbles and outstanding Vermont products - in Quechee, Waterbury/Stowe and the small hillside village of Cabot - we make it easy for you to savor a taste of this special state.
At our Visitors Center in Cabot, where we began in 1919, you can join a factory tour, watch talented cheese makers create our award-winning cheddars and enjoy plenty of samples - all in one of the most scenic spots in America. Our visitors say the drive alone is worth it!
Those en route to Stowe or Burlington, VT, can swing by the Cabot Annex in Waterbury, located only one mile off Rte. 89, between Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory and Cold Hollow Cider Mill. It is a sampler's heaven, full of Cabot products and other Vermont specialty foods, including local micro-brews and wines. Champlain Chocolate, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Vermont Teddy Bear share the same roof with Cabot.
Our newest location is the Cabot Quechee Store, another hot spot for lots of free sampling and home to a wide array of original Vermont products. It's also the center for the Best of Vermont, our statewide partnership with some of Vermont's finest artisans. Located in Quechee Gorge Village, there is plenty to see and do - from riding on a vintage mini-railway to browsing one of Vermont's largest antique emporiums.
