Wakefield's Meadowbrook Farm
West Brookfield, Vermont

Wakefield’s Meadowbrook Farm pretty much fills the valley of West Brookfield and much of the surrounding hillside. Here Lynn and Alice Wakefield carry on the dairy tradition of Lynn’s parents, Earl and Helen, who still live in the main farmhouse across the road from the barns.
Lynn and Alice’s son, Scott, a recent UVM graduate, has come home to work, insuring that Wakefield Holsteins will be shipping milk to Cabot for another generation. The rest of their children—Sarah and Amy, grown now, and young Peter, still at school in Randolph—help out with chores when they’re home. This evening, Peter and Alice encourage the ladies down from Davis Acres along a tree-arched lane as crickets sound and the August sun dips low over Cram Hill.
