The Brook Knoll Farm, in Hopkinton, RI, has been farmed by the Reynolds family since 1948 when Dot moved here with her parents and her brother, George. Before then, the family had farmed in nearby Exeter.

On the evening when Cabot photographer Bob Eddy arrived, George's son, Chris, was milking as his brother, Keith, worked the back fields. Dot kept watch from the porch as Lydia, Harrison, and Meadow wheeled around the farmyard on an assortment of bikes. The kids were happy to forestall their inevitable evening bath by showing their visitor the calves, the kittens, the view.
